I know I said I was gonna get a ps5, but with the way things are going, I think I should just keep my PS4 and upgrade to a new Xbox.
I say that because, after having experience with the playstation, I can't really see myself fully transitioning to them.
The interface, homescreen, and controller, are all relatively garbage in comparison to the Xbox. Besides, I tend to use the Xbox more anyways, since I use it for Netflix, gamepass, and youtube. I know that some of that stuff can probably be used by playstation too, but it would be too much of a hassle to hook up, since I would have to access my parent's email, log into my gmail, and go through all of that confirmation shit.
Even if I were to get it set up, I would probably just use it on my Xbox more often anyways, since the interface is more user friendly.
As I see it, as long as I can play next-gen PS5 games on my PS4 then I should be fine, sure I won't be able to play them in their highest fidelity, but I'll still be able to play them nonetheless.
All in all I just feel much more comfortable upgrading my Xbox, since I'll be using it more often on a greater variety of games.
