I have a permit and have driven before but technically no license even though I could get it. I just have anxiety about driving tbh. I can't control what other people do on the road or what if I forget some rule from the 60 paged manual? I always think of all the shit that could go wrong and I don't trust myself enough to drive without someone double checking me. This probably arises in part from the bullying I endured/ing and also because I guess I'm a naturally negative emotional person.

Can't speak for the rest of the people here but I think this could be one of the leading reasons.

It feels very unnatural for me. I feel closed in an unsafe tank sort of. I can't see clearly from all directions because metal and other things are in the way. I find it hard to gear.

It's not so much that the act of driving is hard, it's being on the road with others that's hard. I can't multitask (i.e looking at rear view mirrors, checking speed meter, checking speed limit, checking side mirrors). Roads are confusing and I'm scared I'll accidentally kill someone and up in prison forever. (though at this point being in prison won't be much different than the life I'm living )

Driving is somewhat easy, it just takes time getting used to it. The only hard thing is learning all that shit before you take your drivers education test. I don’t have a license or permit but my dad takes me to an empty parking lot to drive around in. The only thing that’s a pain in the ass is parking the car.

I know that in Germany, they have more stringent standards for passing the driving test than in places like the United States.

It is not hard, indeed. It is only a financial burden, at least for me here in Germany. Also, females should not drive. The mere picture of it, is truly infuriating to me.

I've never tried driving, but the actual driving part (steering, breaking) is easy as shit I imagine. It's all the unspoken rules, awareness, parking etc. that's difficult. I live in a crowded city and I'm 100% sure I'd get into an accident eventually or piss drivers off.
I'm also aspie.

I'll take the test next year because my dad keeps pestering me about it, but I don't think it will end well.
