had lived relatively off grid (200 miles/300km from the closest small town) for the past 16 years (or at least ever since you were 11 years old) and still do? Yow own a nice little hut, running water, big lake nearby with loads of fish in it, wild fruit growing everywhere, and absolutely no internet access? There is a small store nearby with everything you need, a tv always runs in the background. You might know what the "internet" is but you couldn't name any websites, you don't know what porn or OF is, and you haven't seen a lot of women, let alone pretty ones. Would you be happier?

Probably, yes.

Yes.
I am moving out of the country to Vanuatu to live this lifestyle hopefully next year, or after uni at least.

Very nice, I'm glad for you!
Do you wish you never knew about the internet and always lived on the island, oblivious to it all?

no doubt in my mind, yes

Thank you!
Of course, although a part of me wishes I had the internet, I would have lived a much better life without it.

I'm going back over there in 2 weeks to do the roof of the house, i'll send some pictures though :feelsYall:

:feelsautistic: excellent

No, i like having the internet. It's my only way of communicating with other people

i don’t believe it matters that much, the grass is always greener on the other side. People who live in cities wish that they lived in rural areas and the people who live in rural areas wish that they lived in a city.

If i lived in a rural area i would probably cope by saying “if i lived in the city i would had definitely ascended! i would have way more opportunities!”. Also i would be dying with curiosity on what the internet is, and i would be thinking on all the stuff that im missing out on.

But i would say that objectively i would still be happier despite having those thoughts. I didn’t even know that height was such a big deal until the internet. If i didn’t have access to the internet i would not be seeing all those disgusting comments that woman make about short/unattractive men. And ignorance is bliss after all. I would be blissfully unaware of how woman see me as.

I think certain people are just fundamentally broken, and can't really experience normal happiness. I'm pretty sure I'm one of those people. I don't think the locale would make much of a difference.

I feel like you neede exposure to human behaviour to be able to operate properly otherwise you'll be taken advantage of

Once again intelligently written :feelsokman: I'm sorry I haven't replied to your other comment from 14 hours ago. I couldn't have said it better. Nowadays, my brain is quite slow, so I often can't come up with a thoughtful reply.

I agree with you, I would also cope and think I could get a gf, maybe I'd see a girl at said small store, and think of asking her out. On the other hand, I would not have seen and not see (including reading about) the brutal realities of life. I might learn it the "hard way", or maybe not, depending whether I would approach some girls and think it's my personality. In line with what you said it is brutal to see and read about how 5'4 men (or short men) as well as ugly men, are seen by society.

On the other hand, 99% of the attractive girls I see, I see on the internet. I wouldn't be sad or envious I can't have her, or that particular girl. I can't help it, feeling this way. I can't control it. It is a primitive desire I think.

Hence, if I quit the internet now and just went off grid, it would help a bit, but I will never forget the truth.

Fuck no if my brothers are still there with me, then no I would probably considering roping even harder. I would want it without them

Yes, wouldn't be constantly bombarded with sexhavers and their relationships

If your brothers were there with you? I don't think I'm understanding your comment

warm climate and more sunlight would make me happier

ok, so if you lived for the last 15 years on a tropical island with no access to internet (only newspapers from local shop) and obvious to most things you know now because of the Internet (including pretty girls), would you prefer that life?

Apologies for my horrible writings. But yes I dont to live that life with them. If I stayed a single child then I would be happy.

Ah I see, yeah that does make sense.

No need to worry about it bro, i wasn’t even thinking about that. The conversation could had ended with my last reply anyways, there wasn’t much more to add, it was basically me ranting about the dickpill :feelskek:

a lot of the time i’m sleep deprived so i understand what you’re saying. But in all honesty, if you don’t feel like replying, then don’t, i never take it personally. Sometimes i be taking days to reply because i don’t feel like it. We’re all adults here and we understand that sometimes we’re tired and don’t have the time or energy to do it :feelsokman:

does your area not have attractive women? Because i feel that way without the internet. Maybe i just have low standards but i consider most women around my age to be at least mildly attractive. I have barely seen any women who i would consider ugly.

yeah the damage is done now.

It would be better than my life right now

Yes I’m stuck in Californian suburban/urban hell. I would do anything to live in an isolated rural place but I’m stuck in jewnior college.

Probably.

The less you are aware of things, the lesser is your suffering.

Absolutely. The prerequisite is that I've never had any contact with the internet? Then I wouldn't miss that crap. Or would I?...
But I'd still like to have at least one good friend who drops by now and then, someone I could barbecue with and later sit around a fire with a cold drink.

Then I might still dream that a woman would one day wander into my life and like me because I can survive in the "wilderness".

What would I know about the blackpill and hypergamy then?

On the other hand, I've always been the nigga who wants to get to the bottom of things and know what's what. That applies to many other topics as well.
So, even in this scenario, I would have gotten internet access sooner or later.

Nevertheless, a cabin in a secluded location would be extremely based.
If I were healthy enough and had the money, I would do exactly that today. Civilization and all its filth increasingly disgust me.

Honestly a solid maybe.

Good idea bro.

Just be sure to keep a tsunami kit nearby.

Thanks, i'll have you known that our tsunami kit is already sitting on the shelf. I appreciate your concern.

Definitely

No. It sounds like it would take effort to live like that, I don't have the energy. I'd rather NEET and LDAR all day in my bedroom.

You can do everything you can do now, except go on the internet. There's a store that has everything you need 30 mins away by car, driving there is the only thing that requires any energy

I work now so have to take public transportation. Yeah now sometimes I see attractive women. Before I used to work, I didn't really go outside so I didn't see any. But you are right, most I do not see as ugly either.

So I effectively have infinite money to spend at the store? I would probably still prefer my current life, as I can listen to music using the internet. I would likely be more bored in this hypothetical.

Yes, it's a voucher worth 20 years of living expenses (in this case, food, stuff like cutlery and tools like saws).

I would probably still prefer my current life, as I can listen to music using the internet. I would likely be more bored in this hypothetical.
Understandable, me too. But the internet has hurt me more than it helped - it made me more depressed

Yes

Alright but my question was more focused on the internet itself. What about if you somehow got denied access to internet living in the city?
The last time I lived in the city my internet was much faster because I lived next to a node. Not as fast as a T1 connection back then, but really fast for having an advantage when gaming online. Now living rural it’s slower speed with numerous outages.

Residing in a dying small farm town w/internet or living off grid is extremely boring. Nothing but a pipe dream fantasy for those who haven’t experienced it longterm.

Reminds me of my uncles life in his 60's. He works alone as a fisherman and has no internet in his house.
I was in his house last week and he still has a VCR in living room.
I wouldn't say he had a happy life though, he was an alcoholic for a few years in his 40s and is quite an irritable man.
