RageFuel Workplace lookism especially when heralded by women, have any of you seen someone be hired on basis of good looks more than qualification before?

I am genuinely curious. Have any of you seen people be picked on the basis of lookism rather htan being well qualified for work anywhere where any of you have seen a woman in charge/ managerial position in any workplace?

i havent but im sure it happens all the time

Ofc it happens.

There's a young woman in my engineering office who is only here because she's young, thin, and somewhat attractive. She's like maybe a 4.5 or a 5, but she is young and thin and nubile. She has a witch's skull and a recessed chin. Watching the married men orbit and bend over backwards for her is humorous and pitiful at the same time. She even gets them to do her work sometimes (she tried it with me and I didn't let it happen!).

Funny enough, they asked me to interview her before they hired her. They told me it was a female. I refused and told them I would never hire a female. I haven't been asked to interview people since :)

Yeah, in my opinion all the females here (3) are nothing more than a nuisance, and dread when i have to work with them.

Since it's engineering, most of the men here are not good looking. There's only one proper good looking dude, and he's a virgin - voluntarily (trad catholic, denied sex "multiple times"). I don't think we've hired men based on lookism as its rare to see a chadly engineer.

Nah it happened. I work in a small office with no HR. I don't work for a multinational corporation. For some scope: I was the 7th employee at my company. My boss is a bit of a eccentric.
