Perhaps, from what I understand the limits of Moore's law are being approached which is inevitable as we encroach upon the laws of thermodynamics. Delving more specifically in AI though I have no doubt AI will be used to automate large swaths of the employment sector(which is already possible/happening), but attempts at an artificial general intelligence as things stand have failed absolutely miserably. Potentially quantum computing will be the next huge advent that pushes AGI forward, but it's out of my expertise really and on face value sounds like nonsense to me.
