I can't fully work out if the genders consciously present the way they do to attract the opposite sex, or because it just "feels right".
I think... mostly it's the latter. Men enjoy looking strong and competent and women enjoy looking "cute" and sexy.
Subconsciously yes a huge part of this is about attracting the opposite sex, but consciously not AS much I don't think.
