it makes more sense to be attracted to someone who spent years in the gym to get jacked, as they will be able to protect them. From an evolutionary perspective, this makes no sense that a pretty boy would be more attractive than someone who will be able to protect them and therefore ensure the survival of their offspring.

you could argue that having good facial genetics shows that you are healthy, and so will give the woman healthier woman. But this makes no sense either. Having a round jawline, messy hair, ugly eyes etc does not make you unhealhy. all of your basic biological functions work just as well for the ugly man as it does for the handsome man.

It makes perfect evolutionary sense. Anyone can get muscles with enough work, but to have a perfect face is entirely down to genes. Genes are what matters - the femoid “brain” (if you could call it that) is looking for good DNA to replicate for the future of the species, not some sad fucker who spends his evening in the gym.

Sexual selection is not a sapient process, and therefore it doesn't necessarily select the traits best suited for survival. It selects traits which selectors (femoids) find attractive for whatever reason.
