When cutting really first came about in 1985, people cutting themselves was a relatively new phenomenon that nobody had really heard of (since on every level of it, it's just obviously absurd) including psychiatric interns and psychologist. Now of days you'll see women cutting themselves all the time, and a very sizable proportion of women cut themselves. It's difficult to estimate, but it's likely a few percent. Not a significant majority, but also not a small minority. We didn't even have a term for cutting until recently, and psychiatrists are only just now coming up with one, and it's not a very good term yet because the category of self-harm is purposefully overly inclusive to avoid being exclusively female, including a lot of what would be more appropriately called "retarded" or "case de bedlamite" so that some men can be placed in the same category with the obvious difference being that after engaging in a particularly stupid behavior once or twice males stop doing it. Now, referring to it as cutting is politically inappropriate because it is unsettling to have a psychiatric category that is almost exclusively female even though it clearly is exclusively female. Men seldom injure themselves as most brain dwellers just don't do that (you dont do it again if you discover that it hurts) and, if you If you search for the term "self harm," you will not find information about cutting instead, you will find malicious and deceptive misinformation about cutting that is meant to cause pain and suffering. If you search for "cutting," any page that contains the word "self harm" is almost certainly malicious misinformation.
Just imagine accidentally dying from cutting yourself. That's the most retarded way to possibly die
