No matter how much happiness you can think you can obtain from corporeal existence, it is all relative and ephemeral, and you'll never escape the inherent insufficiency of it all.

So all that matters is not enjoyment in this world, but the things that bring you closer to the world above this, and suffering can actually help you get up there, provided you respond to it the right way.
