Honestly , objectively speaking games are cheaper than they ever have been. xbox/PC game pass and STEAM give loads of free games and demos. I primarily game on PC and most of the games that I have played have been free- I played NG2 black, Gears of War reloaded, Doom the Dark ages this year and I have played them all for free. Only game I remember buying this year is Borderlands 4
PlayStation has PSN plus which also offer loads of free games as well. Not as many though.
Jewtendo is as expensive as ever though. Many newer releases go for $80+ and they offer VERY few free games if really any.
But gaming on PC/xbox or playstation is cheaper than ever due to all the free games (on gamepass, PS+ or overwatch and other free games.) When I was growing up, I would have to beg my parents for $50 games every 3 months. Imagine having to do that?

Man most free games are infested with hackers or are garbage and the good games you get for free are way past their prime time with 0 online players.
Unless you're strictly a single player gamer then yea just pirate everything basically and enjoy but i prefer online games.
with that said, ofc PC is still leagues better than consoles.

No, but its as cheap as they can realistically make it. I mean $12 a month for all those free games and demos can't realistically be beat, unless they want to lose money on games or charge nothing per month. Plus there is a free trail.
