Seriously this genre of games is the biggest waste of fucking time. 40 minute runs through a level only to die on some bullshit boss repeatedly is not fun or clever. Some of us have jobs ffs.

I'm playing Saros at the moment and its exactly that. I know some people find these games a piece of piss but for the majority these games are hard as fuck. I'm fine with challenge and play every game on the hardest difficulty but not when its like this. I loved the souls games so I can see why the formula is so addictive. But in those souls games you had bonfires and a progression system to keep you going. Starting the whole fuckin level again is taking the piss, only to get your arse handed to you time and again by some bullshit boss that fires a billion particles at you.
 
It's one of the only genres that have retained its difficulty even with modern gaming handholding the gamer.

Saros is a roguelite (not to nickpick). That game in particular, I've heard is sony slop and pretty easy but yeah that genre is notoriously hard.

I've resorted to save scumming, that game demands you to restart the whole fuckin level upon each death which is very aggravating and the bosses have 3 fuckin phases.

I don't mind souls games which spread out checkpoints with bonfires but Saros is taking the piss. Tbh I haven't beat the 1st level on any Housemarque game, their games are ridicuously challenging
 
Saros is fucking impossible Sony needs to just make pretty looking movie games.
