To be clear -- it really depends on what is wrong with your face and how many flaws you have and whether they are apparent. Surgery can fix common maxillofacial deformities such as a recessive or protruding jaw, and it can also fix common flaws such as a misshaped nose or protruding ears.
The problem for many here comes with flaws that are not necessarily detectable but still make it apparent that it is over, usually from lack of harmony in the craniofacial structure. Because of this, in order to really benefit from surgery, you have to already have a decent skull to begin with. There's also certain flaws that can't be fixed: a long midface and the distance between the eye orbital bones come to mind. The structure of the orbital region is not at all easy to alter and is almost always reserved for non-cosmetic reasons.
Lefort I Osteotomy is a surgery that splits the mandible and somewhat shortens the midface; however, the attractiveness of the patient doesn’t necessarily change due to the fact that a compact midface is not the only factor for facial harmony, since an ideal face is split into equal upper, middle, and lower thirds.
Now, to be clear, I’m not saying you can’t make minor improvements to your face with surgery. It is possible. However in reality, there’s no surgery that will make you chad since your facial structure can only be worked with what you already have.
