In early 2009, a 14-year old male chimpanzee owned by two US citizens brutally taught their 54 year old female family friend a lesson when the latter was trying to help the owner of the chimp to lure him back into his cage by holding his Elmo toy, which sent him into a fit of rage and started attacking the family friend whom he had known his entire life.
The chimpanzee tore off her eyelids and nose, chewed on her face and scalped her, gouged out her eyes and ate them, chewed off one of her hands, only leaving a fleshy stump and a thumb and almost tore her other arm off.
This all happened while she was alive and she still is. The female owner tried stopping the attack and went as far as to stab the chimpanzee she had raised when he was three days old in the back with a knife. He turned around with a look that said "Why did you do that?" – the audacity of females! Imagine buying a stolen exotic animal that doesn't belong in human society, using it for your entertainment only to encourage the cops to kill him just because he mauled your family friend. The cops who arrived at the scene couldn't determine her gender because of how badly she had been injured. The cop who shot the chimpanzee did so four times at point blank range which left the chimpanzee screaming while he ran back to the house he lived in and finally dropped dead on his own bed. The cop was so traumatized because he thought the faceless person bleeding out so badly had to be dead, only for it to grab his leg with its mangled hand. Or what was left of it. He claimed to have had nightmares about seeing a faceless person afterwards and suffered depression since he had to kill a chimpanzee he was familiar with and friendly with when the chimpanzee was younger.
