Depends. Opiates make you feel comfy and you don't give a fuck anymore about being ugly, alone suicidal etc. but thats it, and the withdrawls are pretty nasty while they cost a lot once you get hooked. Also you LDAR 24/7 when using them and you can hardly fall asleep at night which is bad if you wageslave. You just lay awake (even though its still pretty comfy)

Not your thing then. If you feel, say, 6/10 most of the time then opiates can't do much for you. You can compare the feeling to waking up at night and realizing you can sleep some more hours, just turning around closing your eyes and not giving a fuck. And this is the "peak" you can reach with it.
Recent withdrawl examle: I used heroin for around 8 months, started with 1g for $40/week and after a few months I was at $100 a week just to keep a level and not get into withdrawl. When I stopped I couldnt really sleep for 8 days and had to change my bedsheets 3 times a night since I was loosing litres of cold sweat and was shaking the whole time + usual nausea sympthoms. After 6 weeks of not using my tolerance levels were still the same so I stopped again. Aafter 7 days of use I had another 3 days of shitty withdrawl again. It's only worth if you can use it casually (2-3 times a week) and I fucking cant
