I think being self aware is a key component of what makes philosophy and art so interesting. Without it I don't think there would really be that spark that makes it so special.

Being oblivious would be nice, but it would be a waste of an existence. Especially because it takes away the questions we all have.

Being self-aware also helps protect you in terms of being able to realistically evaluate your situation as if you did the same things other people did for romantic attention you would get accused of sexual harassment, get arrested/end up on a sex offender registry, or be targeted by white knights/simp orbiters.

Self-awareness quite literally arises due to trauma. It's a survival mechanism more than anything; it means you were defeated, and you have to learn how to survive without being hurt again, so you overanalyze your position within hierarchies and act meek. Self-awareness isn't something to be proud of as your sentiment expressed.
