Discussion Why do we like anime

Call this a hangover musing, but this morn after viewing some of @bruhwtfs fine content in the sewer's, I had an interesting thought: obviously anime isn't real, but why do so many people find it attractive? Is it merely the well drawn lines that stand out to use or is there some sort of attraction to the idea of perfection or on a spiritual/mental level that just resonates with a lot of ppl

I like anime because it is an escape.
Although recently I don't watch much anime anymore. Still, the anime artstyle is appealing because it's detached from reality and looks pretty.
