A good thing they are doing in prisons is not letting prisoners get away with their violence in prison either. Eg.. say 3 prisoners gang up and beat down another prisoner. Thats felony assault and its all on camera in the prisons. And since they are already in jail, aka already have a record, that is some more serious time.

low IQ (you can easily gauge someone's IQ level by assessing what their mental age is, for example, does this 40year old talk like a 14-17 year old in terms of topics, and what is the level of sophistication or knowledge in the conversation, class is another thing entirely).
low inhibition. The guys have tattoos and rougher personalities in general.
some levels of sociopathy. a lot of them honestly see no wrong in what they are doing or what they did. its ok to wrong others because everyone wrongs me. its normal to them.
Looking back I regret even talking to them. Chances are that they were affiliated with white nationalist gangs.
If it were up to me, I would be harsher to prisoners. It makes sense. Whereas someone like governor Newsome wants to be as lenient as possible to prisoners. It sounds like he seriously wouldn't mind them as his neighbors. He wouldn't mind having them mow his lawn, do his landscaping, etc... You do not want people like that working for you especially on your house.
