My theory was always that most people (there's much more Americans and Western Europeans than Eastern Europeans after all, plus all the ethnics) are so used to ethnics moving into every white area they can that when they see a place that has very few non-native ethnics they just subconsciously assume that something is actively preventing ethnics from entering it, rather than it just not being economically appealing to them, the thought of the latter being so alien to them.
