I had a lengthy conversation with some friends about predestination and how free will is incompatible with Christian theology (at least imo) and my one friend who is a big self-improoover strongly disagreed and just repeatedly said some shit about God's plan. I think a lot of people are attached to the idea of free will because it makes them feel like their accomplishments are the results of their hard work, rather than it being set out for them. Also, I think its kind of a mindfuck because it pretty much means life was scripted since the beginning of time, which can just screw with a lot of peoples heads.
