Venting Why do parents care so much about introducing/showing you off to their friends?

I moved out 3 years ago and even now, whenever my parents got some friends over they want me to come say hi, which I always decline
Today I was bringing over some stuff and I wasnt planning to stay at their place, so I just went and left my stuff there
Later I got a message on whatsapp about my mom being offended that I didn't say hi to her friend when I was there
Like who the fuck cares, I didn't go there to talk to her friend. I don't give a damn shit about catching up with her foid roastie friends
