My theory is that it is because they are in close contact with different people and swap bodily fluids with each other. Consequently, they have a diverse bacterial flora on their skin and mucous membranes. Thus, normies who don't shower often smell weird. Since normies in a social group have a similar olfactory signature, many get used to the pungent smell and become anosmic to it. In the end they can't tell when their fellow normies smell
