Why couldn't Capcom continue making Resident Evil games like 4 and 5?

I was revisiting 6 and it's not as good as I remembered. Zombies are very spongey and you can't just shoot them in the knees and then melee combo them like in 4 and 5. The following 3rd person Resident Evil games are even spongier and introduced shitty mechanics like bullet spread where your accuracy is decided by RNG.

Which makes me ask, why couldn't Capcom just keep making Resident Evil games like 4 and 5? Making the enemies tedious bullet sponges and introducing stupid rng mechanics does not make the game scarier. It just makes it more unpleasant to play.

They had the perfect formula and they discarded it to chase trends.

My guess for RE6 is that the game was specifically designed for dicking around on multiplayer for as long as possible, which is why they have so many different campaigns/gamemodes.

Its very tedious if you play for the plot and if you don't have a relative or close friend who likes playing splitscreen with you.

Playing the resident evil 2 remake currently but i don't think i will continue anymore and i have only played a couple of hours. I am too much of a chicken. It's just really stressful. I haven't even encountered Mr.X yet, lol.:feelstrash:

Yeah. I can see that. I think I played it in co-op previously. It is super tedious alone. There's too many walking and talking sections.

It's a short game. You should be able to push through it.

Cuz they always try to do something new and experiment they never release same gameplay filled games for more than 3-4 games. Now they are experimenting with first person camera and also remakes both at same time as they have way more funds than in 2005.

I got bored to death in that greenhouse like area and uninstalled the game :dab:

It doesn't seem like they're experimenting. It seems like they're copying trends. The new remakes are more Last of Ass than Resident Evil.

You can't be more Last of Arse than Revelations 2
That was the first game in the series to start copying Last of Arse. Massive disappointment. so stupid they rejected laser sights and started adding retarded RNG bullet spread.

RE5 is straight up shit but at least you can kill plenty of niggers

No way bro. That game is one of the best in the series, but not scary at all

Resident Evil 6 story is not so good plus the boring antagonist. But the gameplay is very fun and good. It's a fun action shooter game, way over the top though. I sometimes still play it for shits and giggles co op with a random

I prefer the remastered Resident Evil, the cinematic fixed angles that gave you hints to puzzles and gave it a more horror feeling. I wish they returned to that

I'd prefer them to do first person going forward. Can't stand 3rd person normie slop.

Resident evil 7 is the best one imo

I'd prefer a return to fixed cameras for Resident Evil 9

Because they’re greedy and lazy and released some absolute shit Resident Evil games past 2005
