The site includes a lot of fandoms. from video games, movies, TV series, personalities, drugs, there is a subreddit for everything and generally its soys who have these hobbies and interests so they flock over to these subs and then just flooded the entire site and unfortunately beyond that. Network effect. Soys were overrepresented in reddit.com in the first place, they create and post soyish content and soyish subreddits, which in turn attract more soys. Cycle repeats until soys drive out all other content.

For the same reason Facebook became the boomer social media platform. Instagram became the platform for millenial normies. Tumblr became the platform for left liberal SJW roasties and art hoes. 4chan became the young male edgelord platform. etc etc etc.

The worst thing about reddit is that it killed off all the weird and wonderful special interest bulletin board forums, and brought them together under a PC, soyified code of conduct.
