Why are comic con tickets so expensive in America?

Seems that the prices start at 50$ and in the best conventions you can be paying hundreds just for the ticket alone, man WTF Then add hotel, food and money to consoom merch and you can easily spend 1500$ for a 3 day convention. In Spain tickets cost like 8€ and you get the exact same things as in America: Cosplays, stands to consoom, comic artists signing books, Q&A with artists or producers, etc. You can only go for one day but why would you want more? The three days are all very similar. Why are tickets in America so overpriced and why people keep paying for it? I can understand that furry convention tickets are expensive and people still buy them because it seems that every furry is rich but for comic cons which are way more normified it's so weird man.
