1) It sets a precedent and a deterrent. The more brutal you are, the less likely people will want to fuck with you for fear of getting utterly brutalized
2) Some of them enjoy it. Inflicting maximum pain or brutality upon others. A lot of them will find enjoyable.

I once saw a video of a cartel member attempting to eat a raw heart from his foid victim. He was sucha fucking loser though because he couldn't eat the heart. He only took one bite and then threw it on the ground. I would've ate the whole heart, it's free nourishing food. They can kill without hesitation but they can't eat the organs of their victims. I would not say those were their ancestors, Mexicans have nothing to do with Aztecs dna wise, only a very small percentage are of Aztec origin ( I might be wrong I suck at history )
