No, he's right. I'm not religious and I see it too. Many atheists are completely caustic when discussing God, gods, religion or anything theological (or philosophical that is tangentially religious).

I remember seeing a study long ago that scanned the brains of religious people and atheists. They subjected both groups to certain words like "God" etc. The brains of religious people upon hearing "God" shows signs of peace, whereas the atheist brains showed stress.

A lot of atheists have emotional baggage that is probably due to their religious upbringing that they haven't yet shaken off.

Online atheists can be pretty cringe ngl, but so are religious people. Both parties keep pushing their bullshit down your throat, while you just want to relax in peace.

Both have their flaws. Atheists usually tend to be left wing, commie types while religious people tend to be tradcucks.

I don't think it's fair to characterize the atheist identity as having a shared hatred of the monotheistic God. There are all kinds of atheists. The atheists you're talking about seemingly are the ones who have some kind of chip on their shoulder about religion. Those atheists have pigeonholed themselves in a terrible spot. The only things they have to rely on are the empirical world and their faculties of senses and reason. They have to be right, because the alternative - that they were wrong all along and will now pay for it - is terrifying.
