Since i noticed it today for the second time in the last few weeks: How should i (M28) react if there's a stranger sitting down right besides a young woman in public transportation, although there's plenty other free seats left?
In todays's situation, when i got the impression that she was uncomfortable, I made eye-contact with her, looked at the guy with irritation and lifted an eyebrow. My idea was to give her the feeling that i had seen his behaviour, dismiss it and would probably act and step in if he'd do something even creepier. I also made direct eye contact with him and gave him a pissed "don't make me come over there" look, which he avoided and then spent the whole busride looking down at the bottom. What do you think about my reaction? It was very spontaneous and intuitive, and i'm asking myself if i should have - in fact - gone over there, to ask her if he's making her uncomfortable.
