To be honest, today I wouldn't recommend jelq. There a lot of exercises better than this. Stretchings, clamping, penis pumps works better. Jelq it's good but dangerous and outdated. Also If you want something free from risks, search by Angion Method.

Bathmate just have a great merchandising, I tried it and didn't like the first minutes. Vacuum pumps works better. You can gain results just using a pumping but will be many many months until you see something, so the consensus is to use a pump together manual exercises.
