When your eyes start blinking rapidly when you compress the carotid arteries, is that a sign you’re gonna pass out?

This happens when I practice hanging, does this mean I’m doing it right? I know I’m compressing the carotid arteries because I start to get this pleasant tired and lightheaded feeling. Also my body starts to shake a little bit.
