A little over a week ago was the first time in a while. I asked for her phone number in the middle of small talk and she just continued the conversation as if nothing happened. I've experienced much worse so in some pathetic way I am actually thankful that she "let me down easy," particularly because it was in a public place and because of my anxiety. Maybe it's also because I'm older and I truly have zero expectations at this point.
