It's always the case, when something cool has a small fandom it stays cool, but when it becomes mainstream normies ruin it and make it look cringe, take the video game "Among us" for example, it wasn't popular but it was fun, I was one of the og players of the game, it was simple fun and free, when it became popular in 2020, normies did what they did and because of that it became purchasable, you have to create an account to play it (which didn't exist before), and the worst of all the cringe memes all over the internet (amogus, the low IQ animations etc...)

That's the reality, normies ruin things when they become popular and mainstream.

Even our terms like "foids" or "incel" are currently being used by normies and foids, it sucks so much

I kinda agree with this, but most hobby games are made by devs looking to go mainstream and will have no problem bending to the player base instead of the mom and pop story they have here.

I think if you squint your eyes you can kinda see what they were going for.
