When describing depressed or suicidal people, why do they always mention "mental health" and not the fact they were broke or ugly?

if someone had the money and the time and they cared, they would try to build a picture of the afflicted person's life, figure out how much pain they've been through, what their sources of dopamine are and if there's even one that isn't toxic/addictive. then they'd make some kind of a verdict based on that where they acknowledge the person's pain.
