My personal opinion on Hitler is that very few are usually able to give a worthwhile opinion on him. You need to read a lot of serious books on the time period, from different authors and perspectives, before issuing a realistic assessment of the regime, its policies, and the character of its rulers. Blind guesses don't work, because everything was profoundly chaotic, illogical and inconsistent in this so-called "evil empire". The Nazi regime was organized and disorganized, Christian and anti-Christian, racist and anti-racist, reactionary and futuristic, feminist and antifeminist, cruel and empathetic; you can find patterns and antipatterns everywhere. The leitmotivs that remained consistent were merely German patriotism and anti-Semitism.
Overall, my appraisal is neutral to negative. But for personal reasons, I would have preferred that Hitler won the war. If only to send Freud and his disciples to an early grave.

I get you point. We lack distance, etc. Ideologically though, I have more sympathy for simple fascism (statism, charismatic authority and national sovereignty) than for nazism. Frequenting a lot of interesting people from different horizon in my life, the whole racial occultism criminal bs is not my cup of tea at all.
As a mulatto I am merely appalled and utterly saddened to hear that a man like this ruled half of Europe just a few decades ago.
