Pokémon is actually the most successful media franchise ever. There are plenty of different Pokémon stuff for different target audiences (except adult only).

For example, the anime is very, very childish and limited, but the Pokémon Special manga is awesome. Most of the main games are great, but there are plenty of other less appealing ones (IMO), etc.

I like the fairy typing, has some very cute Pokemon that I love to use in playthroughs, it's also a very powerful type for the late game in most Pokemon games.

Historically, I've always like water Pokemon. However, I think Psychic is the best, as there are few counters to it, and they can take on a variety of other skills.
