Me personally I think it's popstar culture that's popular now. Or lgbt culture.

It's better just to act like a frat boy laidbacker and develop fancy aspects to your identity than to get in the muck of adversity.

It's still very strong, in particular among the turkish/muslim community in my country that adopted thug culture of africans in the US as their "Gangster" culture.
It was literally public knowledge for a long time that Bushido, a very famous turkish rapper in Germany was the pawn of the Turkish Mafia and basically in a slave relationship with them.

I work at the mall, and at a clothing retailer and ALL the foids and men are tatted up, some of the foids got tats on their necks.
