I have a friend who didn't get laid until he was in his late twenties, and it was to some seriously crazy fat white chick. They had a kid together but didn't marry, and finally he couldn't take her anymore so split from her.
It's been about 3 years since he has gotten laid. But, I do not think he would consider himself an incel - at least the way we think of it here on this forum. He's ugly, ethnic, getting fat, and has no prospects - no dates or anything. It's likely he'll never have sex again.
So why do you think this friend of mine is just going along with being forgotten by the opposite sex, while myself (and yous guys) are livid? Why is being an involuntary celibate seen as being a fringe group, when you could say any guy who hasn't fucked in a year is basically an involuntary celibate (since he would take the chance to fuck if given the opportunity)?
We make fun of the betas/white-knights/nice-guys who vociferously condemn us, although they are more or less in the same position as we are. Wouldn't they, technically, be incels?
