There's one guy's pet project called mekahime that seems to replicate emotions better and runs locally but it takes several 5090 gpus to run so not viable for most. But hopefully its a sign of what's to come.

I managed to reverse engineer the animations they are likely using. same as code27.

i looked up mekahime, and didn't see anything special or that would justify expensive setups. its seems to be a heavy LLM with VRM animations. it can't do JOI. all he uploaded were shorts of it being almost edgy.

just tell me if there is any appeal I missed

The main reason he needs 3 GPUs is bcs he has seperate gpus for different functions. Like the ability to see stuff is it's own GPU.

it means you use all the cores of the CPU to run heavy tasks in the background and also to not make the main program wait for processes to finish. also using CUDA to relegate processes to the GPU.
