Disclaimer here: I'm only stating my opinions on hypothetical and theoretical situations, and I suggest you do the same.

Firstly, we need to define success. How do you succeed in PVP? To answer this question, we need to know why we a player would engage in mass PVP. Though specific reasons vary, there are three shared by the most, if not all, mass PVP players: a desire to take revenge on a cruel and exclusionary player base, a desire to earn a place on the PVP scoreboard, and a desire to terminate one's own game session. To fulfill these desires is to succeed in PVP for most players.

Therefore, the goal in PVP is simple: get the highest score you can before retiring permanently from the game.

The goal is simple. Execution, not so much. As the scoreboard grows increasingly crowded--as more players choose to engage in mass PVP--it's becoming increasingly difficult to show up high enough on the scoreboard to stay there for any meaningful length of time. Most PVP players are forgotten about within days of showing up on the devs' news feed, and it won't be long before mass PVP becomes so popular that they won't show up on the feed at all. To stay on the scoreboard and get high enough on there to keep your username within memory, you will need a substantial base score, and you'll probably need a score multiplier, e.g. a long and/or well-written manifesto. According to Wikipedia, player Anders_Breivik currently has the highest base score of 77, with a partial score of 319, and a hefty multiplier from his novel-length manifesto, making him the best PVP player in recent history.

In my opinion, you need at least a well-written manifesto exceeding 10,000 words in length, and a base score of more than 15, to get high enough on the scoreboard to be remembered as a good player. To do this, you need a well-thought-out game plan set up well in advance, a wide array of solid gear, good proficiency in that gear, and decent stats, mainly in strength, agility, dexterity, and intelligence. If you're missing any of those things, you are very unlikely to earn a decent spot on the scoreboard.

Your thoughts?

It's over if your K/D ratio isn't at least 10:1:feelsrope:

Do you get bonus points for making combos?

A sufficiently stylish combo might count as a score multiplier if it shows up on the feed.
