What were School Dances Like for You?

I only went to 2 because I was astronomical inhib.

First one was the first ever dance in 7th grade. I just wandered around and talked to a couple of friends. Was very nervous. Got asked to a dance by a really fat girl and told her no because I was too scared (Told her I was gonna kill myself so there was no point in dancing, lol).

Second one was homecoming senior year. Actually may have had a chance at a girl, but got too scared to ask her, then she left. I spent the rest of the night sulking.

I remember when I was a kid my mom telling me about how one day I would be going to prom with a beautiful girl. Never happened. Even when I was a kid I told her 'No', because even then I knew about my inhib.

Lucky tbh. Everyone else working up prom and then the after parties while you know you're destined to rot is suifuel.

For my first dance freshman year some fat junior/senior would come up to the high inhib kids like me(i.e; ugly, therefore socially anxious) and try to get them to dance with a girl. Haven't gone since, it's simply not a place you want to be if you're a subhuman.
