What or who introduced you to anime? And before you got interested in anime what were you thoughts on it? Did you think it was weird or were you not just completely interested or aware of it until you stumbled upon on it?

Like most kids like myself, I stumbled upon anime back in 2014 on toonani when cable tv was somewhat still a thing. My first anime that toonami was showing was(if I can remember) was FMAB, and at the time I thought it was just some cooler version of what an American cartoon was.

So I decided to search up the show on my laptop and also just searched what type of show it was. Thus, this started a very long anime journey for me until I stopped watching it around 2023, because I had just gotten bored with it until now, were I am getting back to it. And before I had no idea what anime was.

My uncle showed me anime at a young age, it was an anime called saiki k

Gonna tag some dweebs in here since I’m pretty interested how they got into it.

My first exposure to it was pokemon anime, probably the same for a lot of other people. I haven't really watched that many though anyway

This forum got me into it

A friend from a forum I frequented as a teen introduced me in 2010 or so. Haven't watched any anime for a minimum of 8 years, though.

Italian Television introduced me to anime. From around the late 70s to the late 2000s anime was very popular here.

I don't know probably the manga they had at my local public library.

Television. Was a fan of Sonic X, Pokemon, Digimon, Beyblade etc.

Cable TV, but I started getting into more autisitc anime as a result of old TF2 Touhou edits.

I watched haruhi and k-on because of fyad

The Sci-Fi channel used to show anime movies on Saturday afternoon during the late-90s/early-2000s. This is how I got to see classic '80s anime stuff like Akira and the Macross movies.

One of my old friends back in middle school got into Attack on Titan, and that's all we'd talk about lol.

We eventually moved onto things like Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh as well.

this is gonna be autistic as fuck but I saw a few dubstep edits of Hellsing ultimate and prepudecent me thought they looked tuff af so I watched it and enjoyed it. As you can tell that was a bad decision on my part.

Sword art online

prolly pokemon and sailor moon around 99

also the animatrix in 03

didnt seriously watch it until 2011 tho

When I was very young I believe it was either my sister or someone at school who told me that Pokemon, Beyblade, and Bakugan were originally from Japan. I didn't care to look much more into it until I stumbled across an anime channel on cable television. I think the first two non-kids' anime I saw were Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and Kenichi The Mightiest Disciple (I only caught like an episode or two of both shows, I have not seen either in its entirety). When I started actually seeking out anime, though, was in 2014, and the first one I got into was the original Naruto (but the first one I finished was Angel Beats). Stopped watching for two years from 2016-2018 because I wanted to normiemaxx and get popular at school, but that crashed and burned marvelously

The first time I saw it was on TV like many others have said. The first animes I watched were Dragon Ball and Naruto. I was a big cartoon fan growing up and I also enjoyed Western cartoons like Spongebob and Avatar The Last Airbender :feelsaww:

After a while I grew tired of being cucked into watching whichever episode they wanted to air on that day, so I moved over to totally legal and legitimate anime streaming sites :feelsEhh:

not telling you

television

Also had to watch a movie or two from studio ghibli for Japanese class back in highschool. Even before this I didn’t think anime was weird at all

I only started watching it when I was 20 so I was late to the party.

Toonami and (unfortunately) 4kids introduced me to tranime

Pokémon used to air on TV every morning before school when I was in kindergarden, those are my earliest memories of the medium.

Naruto was my first. I just heard people talking about it when I was in middle school. decided to look for myself, and enjoyed it. I haven’t watch any more animes since for some reason.

I dont watch any kind of anime, srry.

A TV channel called Rede TV

One of my oldest memories from watching anime was princess mononoke or avatar

Watching Dragon Ball Z on TV when i was a kid

A dude i knew from grade 3 introduced me to part 1 Naruto. Got hooked and been a weeb ever since

Watched dragon Ball z on tv as a kid.

Fist of the north star I think. Was airing on TV and I liked it.
