Why do we seek authenticity?

Modernity allows us to emulate anything, AI foids, generated content, music, games, copes, infinite possibilities and solutions, yet we still feel more amazed by “true” authentic content, insights, creations, connections.

What is it then, effort? Not feeling achieved or accomplished from something not unique, easily repeatable? The fact that someone can prompt out thousands version of the same doesn’t make us appreciate the abundance of choice anymore?

I wanna stop believing bluepilled shit cause I think we are simple minded input output animals and words are made to fascinate retards. Like this couldve been a whole brainstorm of useless shit if i didn’t make this point right here. Hoomans follow the reward like monkeys do and so I wanna know the reason for it.

We could chat to AI foids, creampie in them if u are willing to engineer, yet it isn’t so appealing. Not because of quality, we might get beyond the uncanny vally limit in 10 years, but probably because everybody can have this so we are “unwhorty”, it’s no more a frozen moment in time just for us.

I love AI annihilating power but I need also to understand how to overcome authenticity dilemma. Thats also what would make this group cease to exist. Why in the abundance of answers should we discuss here? It isn’t efficient, yet a comment here is worth reading. Why are we like this?

This is a difficult question. A scientific explanation regarding psychological tendencies has to be based upon evolutionary psychology, however there is nothing analogous to AI-generated content in the history of human evolution.

I'd speculate it's because AI-generated content wasn't so prevalent in our formative years, and we aren't "used to it". Perhaps Gen Beta kids, who would be immersed in AI content since they are born, would feel appreciation to AI-created content just like to human-created content. In other words, what underlies our search for "authenticity" in the AI age is a mental inertia, or a resistance to novel and unfamiliar technology. Just a hunch, not a scientific explanation

U might be right ngl

In general artificial things lack any depth to them if they are made by retards. This is taken to the absolute extreme if they are made by automated tools. Even if one does not understand some piece of work fully, the depth of it is apparent as a certain sense of magic and fascination, giving it meaning and an appearance of worthwhileness. An AI simulated gf could never capture all the wonders of femininity without fully simulating a human foid, so it is nothing but a cheap substitute.

That’s a valuable consideration but not truly the point. Im not worried about how much AI simulation can improve. It will. Faster GPUs, more data, more math, eventually they ll get there. My question is why knowing if something is real or not conditions our brain given the same or maybe better ouput, for the foidbot example. Why the fact that I could quickly have the same thing u have effortlessly makes u appreciate less the possibilities of tech. Im typing with something in my hand that people 30yrs ago would have declared war for.

And I think that we are doomed to unsatisfaction as a species atp, no matter how accommodating the future s gonna be

Well for that there is a simple explanation, psychologically the harder something is to get, the more one appreciates it, making it actually better.

I would not count on AI being able to replace the "real thing" within our lifetimes though, the whole technology behind LLMs is a lucky shot in the dark and is quickly nearing its limits, at this point most of the improvement is done by just throwing more compute at it.
