An array of edged weapons and bludgeons. I like collecting things, I like purchasing or even constructing proper storage or display cases for them. Maintaining them is relaxing and takes up a good amount of time of your day. I can get a decent workout practicing some of the strike patterns/combos I've looked up on youtube, and I also look up practical self defense techniques because I don't believe in buying a high end weapon that I'm not gonna pack from time to time, and I don't believe in packing anything until I feel I'm efficient at not just wielding it, but properly carrying and deploying it as well. In some odd twist, collecting, maintaining, and training with melee weapons that could actually do a lot more long term damage than a bullet, calms and centers me. A little too ironic ? Yeah, I really do think...

No, I've been doing security work for over eighteen years, in addition to what my job teaches, I also met guys who got me into old school self defense instructors like Richard Ryan, James Keating, Michael Janich, and Rex Applegate. I take self defense seriously because like many of the users here, I too was bullied and picked on in my younger years, and let's just point out the obvious, that being that we will always be targets for chads and even arrogant normies who would not think twice about fucking us up, even taking our life, simply because the idea crossed their mind and we happened to just be there as it did. In my experience, high school bullying doesn't end for us, the bullies just get older, bigger, more audacious, more dangerous, and more creative in their methods of attacking us. Knowing how to defend yourself makes a difference, it teaches you discipline and lets chad know that just because he can stick his dick in any over used hole he wants doesn't mean he can push you around.
True stuff bro. But check out the book of five rings. It's short. It's old samurai strategy stuff. Works for knives too. Works against groups... His fighting history is outrageous! He never lost and died old.
He talks about "winning with you're eye." Basically, by being ready to fight, you don't have to! "Peace through superior firepower," type stuff.
While I have some Applegate style training knives, I don't have any real ones . I like the Gerber mk2 knife better. (Sans serrations/ original style) I also use swords of various lengths and styles.
