I had this discussion with my dad the other day, and it would seem that to him, the difference is that you can go to college and still be retired but you can't be both a NEET and a college student.

I worked as a dishwasher for almost 6 years before an illness made it so I could no longer work. I seem to be fine now about 3 months later.

I just looked up how to get a passport, and I just found stuff telling me to schedule an appointment which would require me to involve my parents and I can't think of a compelling argument to convince them to help me with that.
