What do you think happens after death?

I don't know but I will probably find out soon because my heart is so weak nowadays I feel like I'm gonna die regularly when it beats all weird and hard
Funny you say that because I woke up with heart palpitations and shortness of breath just now

Also my opinion has changed since making this post, I think that because consciousness in an emergent property of the brain, you wouldn't be able to 'take on a new consciousness' like I proposed. So, I now believe that it's just nothing for eternity

Our rotting bodies will decompose into the ground and as for death, nothingness.

Death can actually be a good thing, imagine being reincarnated into an incel in another life.:feelskek:

More than likely just nothing and it will be like before you were born.

There is one theory that the universe is cyclical. An infinite loop of expansion and contraction, eventually leading to a "big crunch" where everything "restarts" and everything happens all over again. Just the prospect scares me because I do NOT want to go through all this shit again, let alone for all eternity. When I'm dead I just want off this fucking ride.

There's a thing called a Boltzmann Brain (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boltzmann_brain). It's very interesting, you guys should check this out.

TLDR for the wikipedia: Among astronomical timescales, atoms floating about in the universe might come together by sheer chance and rearrange to form a conscious mind, perhaps after 10^10^10^10^10^10^10 years

My view on this is that that mind could be "you", Perhaps, you would once again regain consciousness, despite after niggergoriillions and niggergoriillions of years. Though you'd probably die almost as soon as you popped in, since there's nothing around you to support you. Maybe this would let you have a single thought though, in the short span you were alive.

People who went under anesthesia or "died" and was resuscitated (essentially those whose brain activity mostly ceased) experienced nearly no time in between shutting down and coming back online, this would mean that, upon death, time stops for you forever until you regain consciousness once more, and that is when atoms happen to join together to form you.

Unfortunately, this means that, you will effectively be alive forever and for eternity (perhaps continuing your current stream of thoughts the next time you are respawned) as the universe keeps respawning you again and again by sheer luck.

And since it is simpler for atoms to rearrange to form just your brain alone, instead of your whole body, you'd be very alone in your mind, forever and ever, screaming for help, wishing to permanently die.

Maybe in a single instance some atoms suddenly rearrange together to form a garden of Eden, with just your whole body in it, and you'd be a slobbering mess on the ground, overwhelmed by suddenly feeling sensations after spending trillions of years alone in your mind.

TLDR: After death, by sheer luck, the universe happens to arrange your atoms so that you are back again, but die again afterwards, which keeps repeating over and over, while poor you, experiencing 0 time inbetween the deaths will have a steady stream of consciousness, will essentially keep you alive forever, going mentally insane.
