I never really understood why we shouldn't just pirate games instead of outright buying them even at discounted amounts. I'm not gonna lie and say that I do pirate all my games but as we've seen with playstation announcing they will kill physical copies and are allowed to terminate your ownership of the game at any time the phrase "If buying isn't owning, then piracy isn't stealing" comes to mind quite frequently. I do understand some games that have built in anti-piracy features like not being able to download mods on terraria or playing hypixel on minecraft but generally is it not a better decision (if you can do it safely without risking your device) to just pirate your games?

I wasssssssssss, going to get 'Peak' it was only £4 on sale. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, in the about, it looked like the game has 2D sections. I thought it would be all 3D.
Not that my laptop could run it anyway. I was gonna buy it in case one day I got a better Laptop, PC, or if Sony buys Steam. So I can play it on console.

The same feeling is present with pirating except your not wasting your money on some fuck all million dollar corporation, in fact i'd say that pirating makes it so that you get more invested in games you actually like since getting games is accesible its easier to play a game you actually like not one you bought and now have to complete

Yh supporting small games is fine to keep the dev team motivated but for stuff like triple A games or for games that are just too damn expensive pirating is the way

If it’s single player and not a hyper visor crack I’ll pirate. But it is kinda convenient to have things on steam + you get regular updates, etc.
