its a simple view of the world that shields them from pain, from the realization that assholes get handed a billion dollars whitout doing anything for it and live a life of being an asshole to everyone that serves them, they think these assholes will face justice and punishment somehow by either karma or in the afterlife in hell.

there are a ton of this beliefs that all have the same goal, shield you from the truth that the world is completely cold, hard and unfair and there is no justice, no heaven, no hell for psychopaths, just this one shitty existence that is unfair on all fronts
