I don't think they've had enough painful experiences to get tired of it lol
That's what it's called, I got that before too from biting lol. But it was by mistake, you see you should never bite and pull, that's the mistake so many novice nail biters make, you have to bite your nails as if you were using a nail clipper. Pulling is what leads to the pain, bleeding and infection
Oh epsom salt works great for that Whitlow thing, draws the puss right out and its a natural disinfectant too
If you ever get it again here's a secret, I'd take some epsom salt and melt it into a small cup hot water (a lot, a strong concentration, mix it around until it dissolves completely and the water looks clear). Then take a small strip of bandage/cloth and dip it into that water and quickly wrap the swollen finger in it (firm so it won't come off with movement but not too tight). Do this once when you wake up and once again before you go to sleep. It will keep the finger always soaked in epsom salt and the crystals will actually form back over time and form around the finger.
It stops the "throbbing" and the pain too (probably from the disinfectant properties)
Its the best "home remedy" kind of substance I know of. After using it I trust epsom salt completely for any infection.
It made getting the puss out so much easier as you basically see it all drawn up to the surface (so you know where to prick with the pin).
This won't ever happen to me again though, after that last time I'm too paranoid to bite and pull, I'm very careful when biting.
