NoFap as a whole has some valid points, but people completely overrate its effects. Thinking that NoFap makes the difference between a functioning/dysfunctional member of society is delusional. It's like the old myth of video game addiction being the cause of inceldom. They completely forget about cause/effect, video game and porn addictions aren't the cause, but rather the effect of an underlying issue.

No functional and accepted member of society would throw away his life to rot in his room in order to consume video games and porn all day. The underlying issue that existed before the symptoms of the disease manifested remain unadressed, banning porn/vidoe games to combat social withdrawals that resulted from years of rejection is the same as taking aspirin against a brain tumor. You fight the symptoms but not the underlying problem.
