Serious What am I doing wrong?

I somehow suck at showering. Today my mom looked at my hair and was disgusted at the amount of dandruff in it. She had to scrub it for a few minutes and she was still disgusted. When I shower I grab shampoo and scrub it in my hair and when the barber washes my hair using the same shampoo it is way better. What am I doing wrong with washing my hair?
