As loser kids, at least we had the new Lord of The rings/Harry Potter movie, GTA IV, the new Toby McGuire Spiderman film, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3/4, getting our first smartphone to look forward to. There was always some consumerist event in the future that gave kids without lives a reason to stick around.

As adults, we are so numb to any gimmicks. "Oh yay! Another Capeshit movie!", "Oh yay Playstation 5 pro!", "Oh yay iPhone 16 with a slightly better camera!". These are not something that give us steam to carry on. Our brains, especially now, need revolutionary stuff to be impressed.

I guess sex robots could be something to cling to, but that seems too far off.
